I am a 1990 graduate of Mexia HIgh School.
I attended Sam Houston University and graduated from there in 1997 with BS in Education with an extension in Early Childhood.
I began teaching in Groesbeck in 1997, when I taught Kindergarten for one year. I then went to Mexia ISD and taught there for 9 years. There, I taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and Reading Recovery.
Upon leaving Mexia, I chose to take a slight break in education and went into the Real Estate world. I continued to volunteer at the school and served as President of the PTA for the Elementary School. I also continued to help with a pullout program, helping struggling readers.
I began teaching again in Groesbeck in 2009, where I taught First Grade, Fourth Grade, and am currently teaching PK3.
I have to say that I believe I have found my happy place in PreK 3 and I’m not sure what took me so long to get here!!!
I have been married to my husband, Edward, for 21 years. We have two children, Lexie and Landen. Lexie is a graduate of Groesbeck High and is currently a student at the University of Texas of Permian Basin in Odessa, Tx. Landen is a senior at Groesbeck High school.
